Following Instructions

The ability to follow direction and read instructions is very important.  Many students do not read instructions carefully and often make mistakes. They tend rush past key information to get to the ‘meat’ of the activity. Teaching students how to understand the importance of taking their time and thinking critically, about what is being asked if them, is very important.

This week Mrs Prescot worked in Akomanga Ono and gave them a fun instruction based activity to follow. Students had to use their measurement skills to complete this task.  All students found they had to reread the instructions a number of times to ensure they were creating what was in the directions.

Here is some of the students’ final product.
