NAU MAI, HAERE MAI WELCOME TO
PUKEOWARE  SCHOOL

'We have created a learning environment, which is safe, welcoming and stimulating, and promotes our vision of developing our children into independent, lifelong learners with skills to succeed in the future.'

Teenaa koe, Haere mai, Welcome

Pukeoware School is a full primary school located just outside of Waiuku in the stunning Franklin region. Our school provides quality enriching education for boys and girls from New Entrants to Year 8. We have a long and proud history spanning more than 140 years providing the very best for local children. Our beautiful rural setting provides the perfect environment for learning and adventure.

Our philosophy at Pukeoware School is to create a learning environment where each and every child is at the heart of all that we do. We support, challenge, care for, and enhance the lives and learning of Te Aakonga o Pukeoware; the Pukeoware Learner.  Through our core curriculum and a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities, we provide our learners with well-rounded learning experiences that are engaging and stimulating.  Our school has a family-like feel and we aim to cater to every child’s academic, social and emotional development. Our vision provides and promotes enthusiasm, initiative, resilience, flexibility, integrity and compassion; fundamental and essential skills in today's world. Our core values of Kaha (strength), Mana (pride), Aroha (caring) and Toa (bravery) are at the heart of all that we do.  They underpin our teaching and learning and we work hard to see these values in our school every day.

Pukeoware School is community focused and we value the three-way relationship between our students, their teachers, and whanau. This is fundamental in ensuring consistent learning and personal development.  We work hard on communication and expect the same of our community.

Our wonderful staff are highly effective practitioners who are passionate about the roles they play in our school.  With our huge amount of collective experience, we know what children need and the best ways of growing them as individuals.

Pukeoware School has an active and passionate Board and PTA. All members give their time and energy to provide the best for our children. We value these dedicated people and the knowledge and skills they bring to our school.

We welcome the opportunity to show you around our school, and for you to see what we have to offer. Please contact us to schedule an appointment if you’d like to see Pukeoware School in action.  We are proud of this place, and we think you’ll be impressed by what you see!
